◆ Participatory design
Re-imagining an abandoned factory
Community survey (200 respondents), key-informant interviews and a public workshop to identify priorities and possible uses for an abandoned factory.
Overview
The Municipality of Armeno had inherited an abandoned factory at the edge of the village — a piece of industrial archaeology with potential and no obvious plan. They wanted to know what their residents actually wanted from the site before commissioning any architectural work.
I designed a participatory diagnosis: a community survey (200 respondents), key-informant interviews with local actors, and a public workshop synthesising the findings. The output was a priorities document the council used as the brief for subsequent architectural consultation.
