Overview

Ahlain! ("welcome!") was three mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) units inside IDP camps in Dohuk, serving children displaced by the Islamic State occupation. The work was implemented hand-in-hand with Gashbun, a local Kurdish organisation with deep roots in the community.

My focus was operational: getting the units staffed, supplied and reporting to UNICEF, while the technical leads designed the trauma-informed activities for the children themselves.
